What a one-week trip could look like

Day 1: From the Paris airport, drive one hour along the Seine to your first stop: Rouen, The capital of Normandy. Leave your luggage at your hotel, and prepare to get lost in the tiny cobblestone streets of the old city, or take some time to rest at the coziest salon de thé in the heart of Rouen. For dinner you’ll have a reservation with our very own Norman chef, where you can expect to taste the unique specialties of the region at one of our favourite restaurants.

Day 2: Our local guide will pick you up at your hotel (you choose the time) and go for a special breakfast at the farmers market where they will show off some of Normandy’s best cheeses. This is the point where your city tour begins. The guide will take you on a journey through Norman cathedrals, ancient Viking history, Joan of Arc, Monet, all before going to lunch at the oldest tavern in France. In the afternoon, we hit the road! Next stop, Deauville for dinner, where a table is waiting for you at one of French Gastronomies’ greatest treasures.

Day 3: Ooh Deauville, the Hamptons of France! Start by a morning walk on Les Planches, feel the fresh air of the sea, before having lunch on a peniche where the chef will be expecting you. In the afternoon, we’ve booked your visit to a typical Norman house, where you will taste local cider. To all fashion lovers, don’t forget to stop at the address of Coco Chanel’s very first boutique outside of Paris! In the afternoon, you’re heading south. First stop, Etretat. Get ready to be astonished by these enormous clay cliffs, before heading to Caen, to dine and enjoy a serene night.

Day 4: Enjoy your breakfast and don’t forget the beurre de Normandie! Now you’re ready to take a trip to the past… Your next destination is the Second World War Memorial in Caen. After 2 or 3 hours of visits, you will head to Omaha beach, where Americans landed on D-Day in 1945. Get ready, emotions guaranteed. Finish up the day calmly at the American Cemetery to pay tribute to American troops.

Day 5: After a good night of sleep in a typical Norman auberge, you will drive south for a fashion stop at Christian Dior’s house in Granville. Another trip through time. Now did you think we would forget what you’ve all been waiting for? Last but not least, drive another hour (yes, distances are quite short in France) and admire… Mont Saint Michel! It is located at the border of Normandy and Brittany, but it belongs to Normandy, and we are very proud of it!

Day 6: It’s nearly time to go back to Paris… But we have a few surprises left for you! Drive back north to a little village in the countryside, where you’ll visit a renowned leather goods workshop. We kept the very best stop for the end: the house of Claude Monet, in Giverny. Dive into his Impressionist paintings, get lost in this magical garden, dream in its iconic bright yellow kitchen, and visit his studio. Now take some time to walk in this lovely village and enjoy a charming restaurant, before heading back to Paris tomorrow.
